I later attacked them final time so I could have one long tentacle reaching from the Black Sea to Moscow and all the way to St. And with that war I secured the rest of the Black Sea that I needed. So with Russia left nothing to fight with I made my march east and took their forts quickly since they had level 2 forts still. The other army marching in north Italy got just passed my forts but after a battle they retreated to he nearest province, literally one province away and because of my strategic timing and placement of forts I destroyed that army in the second battle in Italy. I literally killed that army within a few days because they had nowhere to retreat to. So when I saw Russia was perfectly in place to move into land where my troops were set up in the mountains I declared the war on them. And of course I had forts in the Pyrenees as well as one in Avignon I believe. You see I had northern Italy full of forts. So I made the genius move of putting half of my total army around the Pyrenees and the other half around the plains in northern Italy. So I had to react quickly because both sides were already marching toward each other in my land. But then I realized that since I had basically all of the Balkans and the Black Sea in my control and I gave Portugal access when they asked that meant Russia had total access. Either way it was one sided and Russia was going to dominate that war however I was like whatever doesn't matter they can't get all the over here. I think it was either Portugal having a PU over Spain or Spain over Portugal. So at some point a succession war broke out with Russia being the attacker. Oh man, fighting Russia was hilarious to me. Thanks for the advice on the HRE, I think I'd be able to fight the Emperor and the Electors, but Russia might make that hard since their allied to Austria. It made taking northern Africa really fast. The religious CB has been extremely useful so far. Once their capitals have fallen or you have also vassalized the electors then click the button to dismantle the HRE. Hopefully the Catholics win the religious wars and there are only two or three electors or if the Protestants won then there are only two or three electors as well, then fighting the emperor and the electors will be an easy time. This however can be done easier once you get imperialism because by then you don't have to border a nation to declare a war. Whenever you feel you can take on the emperor as well as the electors fight them as well to dismantle the HRE if you feel that will help out with your conquests. Use that CB on all heathens and heretics around the Mediterranean.
